A world of benches: Prague
Waiting for us by the roadside or under the trees, benches provide not just a breathing space for passersby to rest but a chance to initiate a conversation and meet new friends.

At a neighborhood in Praha 4, Prague
Whenever I see an empty bench, I would often wonder how many people have stopped by and rested on it, and how many brilliant ideas, endless arguments or crazy jokes have been exchanged among friends and strangers with the bench as their silent witness.
Thus I have acquired an interest in taking photos of benches recently. I have my virtual collection of benches captured by the lens and I’d like to share some of them in a series of posts.

What about the benches at Petrin? How many couples have literary loved each other on these? ;D?

I would have thought that an odd topic, but the shots are great!

I used to live in Nusle, right underneath the Vysehrad and Nuselsky Bridge. You brought back great memories. Thanks

A collection of bench shots, great! I agree with Signe it’s an “odd topic”?
Very creative of you, “love cute”!
Hmmm you had more shots in Finland (one of them: the lonely bench near the Sibellius steel art monument?)..during our tours, i remember you were just taking shots of benches, and at that time i just wondered what you were up to. Now i know
…nice!

Anita:
Yeah…that too! But I was paying more attention to the colorful blooms and forgot to take a nice shot of the benches there.

Nuselsky Bridge? The only bridge in Prague I’m familiar with is the Charles Bridge.
So did you have a nice view of the Vysehrad castle and the Vltava river from your home? You’re welcome about the pics. It’s nice to know that they made you reminisce about where you grew up.

Creative huh? So now you know…

Nuselsky Bridge is the one that Metro is going inside of it and highway to downtown is running on the top of it. I think it’s between stations Vysehrad and I.P. Pavlova.

I did not really see Vysehrad nor Vltava from my apartment (it was in the valley), but was able to walk up the stairs to Vysehrad in about ten minutes and watch the city and river from there. Just magnificent view

Thanks for the info! I asked about it from my bro-in-law from Prague and he said it’s the ’suicide bridge’. I remember I took some photos of it when we were in Vysehrad but I didn’t know its real name as Nuselsky Bridge.
Wow…it’s nice to live just few minutes away from such a nice view of Prague.
