Too bad, Mambukal doesnโt have an online booking website unlike the usual high-tech travel websites with reservations tool for hotel and vacation packages, cheap airline tickets or car rentals services. Mambukal Resort is operated by the province of Negros Occidental and the resort booking and reservation with downpayment is better done at their office located in the Provincial Capitol building.

The resort offers modest lodging facilities, so donโt expect any luxury or modern accommodations here. I am not sure if the resort offers travel deals and discount for big groups or long term stay, but they do give 20% discount for senior citizens. Just be sure to present your official senior citizen ID before paying, otherwise you forfeit your discount especially if the cashier already gave you the official receipt.
Mambukal Resort is located in the municipality of Murcia and is about 45 minutes drive from Bacolod City.

I think the room rates are the same regardless if it’s peak season or not. What’s important is to reserve the room/cottage weeks ahead because they are usually taken during peak season. Just call Mambukal at the numbers given above.
first time ko palang nakapunta dito… ang ganda ganda….gusto ko sanang i try ang slide for life kaya lang sira siya..pati ang hanging bridge…pero solve na solve ang…sana makabalik ulit ako dito.
Hi Nerissa, did you try yung wall climbing? gusto ko sana kay lang wala nang time and it looked intimidating too. What was really unforgettable was our trip to the falls, so challenging! Hanggang 6th falls kami and dun na kami naligo.
I’ve been to Mambukal many times na rin, and hopefully next time it will be an overnight stay. One day is just not enough for exploring the resort. ๐ I hope you can visit Mambukal soon.
Hi, Yerac, it’s me again. Somewhere in time I was also there in Mambukal around ’95 with my wife, we stayed there for 2 days and it was still undeveloped.
We hiked to the 7th falls, one of my misadventures was falling butt first, unsaon naglakaw mga maghangad, ti na-slide eh. At the 6th falls, we saw 3 barkadang kalabaw bathing, unmindful of the people happily frolicking downstream, we took a dip at the 7th falls, also urinated for the carabaos, ngiga gud sila ray kahibalo. We’re planning to go there this summer with the kiddos.
BTW, my wife is an Ilongga from Sum-ag but they live in Sipalay where my father-in-law(deceased) used to work at the mines.

You’re always welcome here! So your last visit to Mambukal was a looong time ago huh? ๐ I can’t really compare how the resort was in 1995 and nowadays, but there might be some improvements.
Maybe the ground was slippery that time so you fell on your butt. This is why the resort does not allow guests to climb up the falls when it’s drizzling or raining. They said it’s too dangerous and landslides might even happen.
Carabaos on the 6th falls?! Yikes! Thankfully, these animals are not found bathing in the falls nowadays. We really enjoyed being at the 6th falls, the current was really rushing from the 7th falls especially under the rocks where we stayed and had a “water massage”.

Hi Ferdinand, regarding discount, I don’t have any idea about that. Maybe it’s possible to negotiate with the resort staff for group discounts? You can try that upon arrival at the resort. Just be sure to bring extra money so your family can also enjoy some of the facilities.
Whats the difference between the LGU cottage & the tourist lodge? The last time i was there was probably around 97, the pool has a greenish color & the way to the 7th falls was a little bit tricky to find. Me & my classmates before are planning to go there this 16 of may just for fun. By the way, i still live here in bacolod.
Dennis, the LGU cottages are located beside the parking area near the swimming pool. I think you have seen them already. Their location offers more accessibility to resort facilities such as the canteen, pool, etc. Most families opt for the cottage since it’s just like staying at a resort house. I think there are two rooms inside, not really sure about this though.
About the tourist lodge, we usually just drive by so I haven’t checked the rooms inside. It’s located on the upper level of the resort, farther from the entrance. I think it provides a hotel-type accommodation.

Hi, my family and in laws plan to visit.My family comprises of 2 adults and 2 kids( a 1 and 3 year old), I’d like to ask if we’d fit in the suite and if the kids wouldn’t have any extra charge? Also, are the rooms air conditioned? One more thing, if we would stay for 2 0r 3 days, are the facilities free of charge already? Thanks.

I haven’t stayed overnight at Mambukal yet (still planning sometime soon!) so I can’t give definite answers, although I’ve heard from friends that the LGU cottage is the best for family accommodation:
LGU Cottage > Php900.00/2 single beds (Additional bed Php150.00). In your case, you can have additional beds for your kids. Note that this is still December 29, 2008 price.
Regarding the tourist lodge suite, sorry I haven’t seen these rooms yet.
I think all types of accommodation are airconditioned.
Anyway, you can choose the type of accommodation you want when you’re there already. Am not sure if the facilities will be free of charge if you stay longer.
I still have to experience staying overnight at Mambukal. We always have limited time during our previous visits there and we haven’t even toured the whole resort yet or even tried other activities like boating, etc. Anyway, I will surely post more details here should another trip be realized.

How is the security of the place,especially for overnight stay. my family will be going to bacolod early July and they are planning to see Mambukal and if possible Mt. Kanlaon.
Hi Arnel, regarding security for overnight stay, I can’t say that much as we have visited Mambukal during daytime only. I think it’s not to be worried about, I have friends who stayed overnight and didn’t hear any complaints or negative opinions regarding security.

Is it possible that we get the LGU room which has 2 beds and just get 2 additional beds and if could the same thing be done on the de luxe room, i.e., adding 2 beds?
