Vacation rentals in the tropics

Thumbnail image of sunset, Rafael Salas Park and Nature Center, Bago CityFor my friends in Europe and Canada, it’s still the season of being bundled up in thick jackets and winter gear. I’m sure they’re looking forward to warm and sunny days ahead. After all, who wouldn’t dream of going on a nice vacation in the tropics? I’m even longing for a few days break, a weekend getaway somewhere in the beach. It seems like most of us are busy at the start of this year, which is quite understandable considering the long holiday break. For those who can’t get away from their desks, it’s dreaming mode again. And I’m one of the dreamers, imagining myself on a tropical beach vacation, lounging on a sun deck.

Travel bugs planning on a tropical vacation can consider the option of vacation rental homes instead of hotels. Most tropical destinations offer this home-away-from-home type of accommodation where guests stay in a tranquil and relaxing accommodation close to the beach. Some vacation rentals are modern in design simulating the look of Richmond Sunrooms with energy-efficient glass walls so guests can appreciate the view outside while staying indoors comfortably. Luxury-type vacation rental homes offer sophistication as well as security, employing tough entry points such as those of Richmond storm doors.

Most vacation rentals are actually residential homes for lease where guests can stay for weeks or months, depending on the availability. Although most units are equipped with kitchen, dining and entertainment conveniences, when booking for this type of accommodation, it’s best to talk with the owner or leasing manager on the availability of facilities you need such as pool, playground, game room, game courts and more.

Planning for an upcoming trip to your dream destination? Whether it’s Bangkok, the “City of Angels,” Tampere, the “Manchester of the North,” or Prague, the “City of a Hundred Spires,” I have included below a simple travel widget you can use to help you easily find where to stay.

On a day when a blizzard ripped through Chicago, I am very tempted to find the next flight out of here to the tropics!
