Maldives: A Paradise for Beach-lovers

Maldives: A Paradise for Beach-lovers

I’ve heard so much of Maldives, a cluster of islets in the Indian Ocean, and its being idyllic, paradise-like. Imagine 1200 islets, but only 200 of them inhabited, with another 100, which are private resort islands. It’s near Sri Lanka, but it has its own gateway via the Male International Airport and the Gan International Airport, though the former is the more popular, being located in the capital and largest city of Male.

Holidays to Maldives are much more enjoyable for those who are lovers of white sand beaches, alluring underwater coral gardens, and tranquil crystal-clear lagoons. Its being a nice scuba-diving site is also an attraction. Another plus for these cluster of islets are the populace who are known to be friendly and warm people. The Maldivians see to it that their visitors are treated well and they receive so much hospitality from the locals.

Inasmuch as we (for those who haven’t been there yet) are still looking forward to make our Maldives dream to come true, it’s better to learn how to go there.

On their arrival, all visitors are granted by Maldives thirty days Visa for free (No prior visa is required). However, in order to be given an entry permit, all incoming visitors to the Republic are obliged to meet the following requirements.

  1. He should have valid and legitimate travel documents for international use as issued by his Government
  2. Aside from having his valid return air ticket for the next destination where he is allowed to enter, he should also have the necessary visas for the following or next destination(s).
  3. He should have at least USD $30/person/day or he should have the necessary confirmed reservation(s) for his hotel/accommodation for the duration of his Maldives vacation. (Exceptions are: diplomats, UN employees, persons approved for employment, government technical staff including skilled personnel and experts, those with confirmed bookings in accredited tourists/hotels, and those who are Maldivian-sponsored.)

There are more regulations about the Entry permit, rules of who are allowed or not allowed to visit the place. But let these not discourage one to visit this stunning, breath-taking paradise in the ocean!
