Ceres Bus Liner rates and schedule: Bacolod-Cebu and Cebu-Bacolod updated September 2011

Finally, here’s an update on the Ceres Liner bus rates and schedule for the Cebu-Bacolod and Bacolod-Cebu routes. I know this is long overdue and a lot of you folks have been waiting for an update. This is the latest schedule as posted at the Cebu North Terminal for both Cebu and Bacolod departures as of September 13, 2011. Before anything else though, here are some important reminders:

1. This travel blog is not affiliated with the Ceres Liner (Vallacar Transit Inc.) bus company. If you have any related questions or you need additional information, I strongly suggest that you contact the company directly at the following numbers:
Bacolod City: (034) 433-4993 / 434-2386 / 434-2387
Cebu City: (032) 345-8650

2. Weather and other travel conditions may affect the bus schedule posted here and subject to change anytime by the Ceres Liner management, thus if you are concerned about the exact departure time, it is best to confirm with their office and contact them at the numbers provided.

3. Route details (maps, destination ports and municipalities passed by) are posted here: Bacolod-Cebu and Cebu-Bacolod Ceres Liner bus routes. I recommend you study the route details, these are practical information if you’re going on a Ceres bus trip for the first time or if you want to be acquainted with the cities and municipalities along the way. No need to be disoriented and overwhelmed just like a newbie tourist in an unfamiliar place, being in one of those all inclusive holidays to Egypt, Nepal or some exotic African destination. Analyzing the Negros and Cebu map details and routes will make one confident about taking bus trips between these two islands.

los city- himamaylan city or cebu-dumaguete city- himamaylan city?

    • happysteps

      Hello Pie,
From where in Cebu will you depart? If you’re based in south of Cebu, you can choose the Cebu-Dumaguete-Kabankalan-Himamaylan route via Mabinay. If you’re based in central Cebu or Cebu City, then you choose Cebu-San Carlos via Don Salvador Benedicto-Bacolod-Himamaylan. Hope this helps.

hello. which terminal in Bacolod we will go to take the bus going to Cebu via San Carlos and Toledo?

    Reply
    • happysteps

Hi Noreen, it depends on your route. If you’re going via Don Salvador Benedicto route, you need to go the Ceres South bus terminal. If you’re passing via Escalante, then you should start at the Ceres North bus terminal in Bata.

Hi Robert, you can take any Ceres bus trip from Cebu to Bacolod, then travel to Iloilo via Supercat or Ocean Jet. The schedule for the Ceres bus trips are already posted above. For Supercat and Ocean Jet, they usually have boat trips every 1.5 hours from Bacolod to Iloilo. Just inquire from their offices.

Jay, go to North Terminal. My mom traveled by Ceres from Cebu to Bacolod last June, and she went to the North Terminal for the trip. Or to be really sure, just contact the Ceres number in Cebu I posted above.

Just ask the taxi drivers and jeepneys, before you ride, they know. There’s a transport terminal in SM where you can line up for a taxi (van or jeepney) to take you to the North Terminal. I’m 95% sure it’s at the North terminal coz last month lang nagtravel mom ko. And it has been there for many years already. Just ask around, that’s what I usually do when I’m in an unfamiliar place.

Hi Allen, there’s no direct bus route for Cebu to Sipalay, but you can take the Ceres Cebu to Bacolod bus trip, this will arrive in their South Bus terminal in Bacolod where you can just take a Bacolod to Sipalay bus trip.

I think they have that direct route before. Not sure what time ang trip. Pwede rin,

      Cebu-Dumaguete then transfer to
Dumaguete – Bayawan or Dumaguete – Hinobaan

if Dumaguete – Hinobaan is available, transfer to
Hinobaan – Bacolod. Baba lang kayo sa Sipalay

      else

Dumaguete – Bayawan is available, transfer to

Bayawan – Hinobaan, then Hinobaan to Bacolod but baba lang kayo sa Sipalay

      Ceres Liner Active Routes

      Bacolod Base

      Bacolod – Cebu via Tabuelan
      Bacolod – Cebu via Toledo
Bacolod – Cebu via Toledo (via Don Salvador)
Bacolod – Cebu via via Kanlaon
      Bacolod – Cebu via Mabinay

      Dumaguete Base

      Dumaguete – Cebu (direct route)
      Dumaguete – Cebu via Barili

      Small info 🙂

Cebu base doesn’t have direct trips from Cebu to Dumaguete and Bacolod. So walang Ceres bus starts with body# 5xxxx and 7xxxx in Negros.

    Hi happysteps,
My family is planning to travel from Cebu City to Escalante on 26 December. We are currently living overseas. I noticed that the departure schedules provided were valid as of September 2011 but the conversations occurring in your blog recorded September 2012 as the most recent one. Can I therefore assume that the departure schedules are still the same as of today? We should go to Cebu North Terminal, right? Do you have information on vans for hire, the cost Cebu City to Toledo City and where we can possibly contact these van operators?
Thank you for the information on the web site – very useful.

Hi Hope, actually I have a snapshot of their bus schedule in Cebu last June, but haven’t got time to post it yet. I will post an update soon. Yes, you should go to the Cebu North Terminal for the Ceres bus trips to Bacolod. Vans for hire in Cebu? I personally know somebody in that business, will ask her about rates for Cebu to Toledo, and will ask her to send you a quote by email.

Hi Mark, based on the schedule above it’s 7:30 PM Aircon via Tabuelan – Escalante – Bacolod. Please contact Ceres Liner for the latest updates on their bus trips to Bacolod. If you have the budget, flying to Bacolod is of course the more convenient choice of transpo.

Hi Richard, sorry I’m not so sure about trips from Guintubdan. I do think there are regular bus trips from La Carlota to San Carlos. You can ask more info from your Mt. Kanlaon guide, I’m pretty sure he knows about transpo availability from Mt. Kanlaon.
