going places, seeing the world one happy step at a time!

This is a follow-up to my previous post Thai Visa requirements inquiry.

Here are the requirements for Thai Dependent Visa Type O for those applying at the Thai Embassy in the Philippines:

- Passport
- Photos, passport size (2)
- Marriage Certificate
- Photocopy of spouse’s passport
- Official letter from spouse’s employer
- Visa Fee of Php2800.00 (as of December 2008)
- Visa application form (filled up by applicant)

This was the case for my sister-in-law who applied for Dependent Visa (Type O) last December 17, 2008 at the Thai Embassy in Manila. It was a Wednesday when she applied and she got her passport with the visa on Friday. The visa will expire on first week of April 2009 as
stamped on her passport, thus about 90 days validity.

Visa processing takes about 48 hours or 2 working days. Visa application is usually in the morning while passports are released or claimed in the afternoon. How about renewing the visa when it expires? This will be done by the employer, the date of visa expiration will be based on the employee’s end of contract.
