Guide to buying backpacks for outdoor recreation

Whether it’s just a day tour among the ruins or a camping weekend, going on a trip would require some bag to carry your trip essentials. A backpack is the best choice for a comfortable hands-free way of carrying your load compared to single-strapped bags which can cause too much strain on the shoulders and neck. It’s also good to have a backpack with plenty of compartments to organize stuff while on the go.

Here’s a quick guide to buying backpacks from Shopwiki especially when you’re planning to use it for the outdoors:
1. Choose backpacks with wide straps.
2. Choose backpacks with padded backs.
3. Backpacks should be lightweight. Your backpack should be less than 20 lbs or not more than 15% of your body weight.
4. Choose backpacks with high quality zippers.
5. Choose backpacks that are waterproof and tear proof.

More tips on buying outdoor gear such as GPS devices, hiking boots, sleeping bags, climbing gear and other trip essentials can be browsed over at Shopwiki’s online buying guide.

great tips Carey, I can not imagine myself hiking with a one strap bag, that would put a strain and probably injure my shoulders.

I’m planning on backpacking Europe in the very near future so I’ll definitely use this advice when I buy the backpack that’s right for me 🙂

Back in the day when hubby and I hiked and backpacked alot we had an external frame pack. Much debate at the time which was better external or internal frame. Most today with improved metals are internal frames which are easier on your back. The externals were designed better back then with more separations for your clothes, food, fuel, and equipment.

A day pack is less important in design than one where you’re truly packing in.

Stopped in to say thanks for placing the advert, it’s appreciated.

Hope you’ll swing by for a visit, the welcome mats always out.

In addition, try to fit the backpack before buying because you will be carrying it the whole time. It must be as comfortable as possible so as to avoid shoulder and back strains.
