Work-related travel

Who’s in Uganda now? It’s none other than cutie sis’ hubby for work purposes. He will be staying there until first week of August yet, so that means a different work environment for him and… the chance to tour around. 🙂 Anyway he was there last time and was able to visit and see some of the wildlife… so I think it really is an interesting country, yeah? I do hope cutie sis (with baby C) would also be able to join him when he will be assigned to Uganda again.

When one is assigned to another place for work purposes, it could either be stressful or relaxing, or a mix of both. For some, there’s the pressure of being called by your boss even when you’re on an out-of-town trip. For managers on work-related travel, there’s the task of checking on his subordinates back home. If he/she is using a web time clock, the web manager module enables punch editing, input employee vacation and sick leaves or browse through the report library to track on employee’s overtimes, tardiness or absences.

Internet time clocks provide an automated way for managers to monitor employee performance while on travel. For some employees off-site, they can also do a time-in and time-out via the web time clock. Though for sis’ hubby, he doesn’t have to since what’s important for their client is a successful outcome and not the number of hours spent on the project.

Have you ever been assigned to another place for work purposes? How flexible was your time schedule and how did you report for work?
